The Clearpoint Home & School Association has partnered with Media Smarts, a Canadian not-for-profit organization for digital and media literacy, to offer a free online webinar to give Clearpoint parents tips on managing kids’ screen time, how to keep your kids safe online, and the importance of setting family internet rules. Kids today are going online at younger ages – which means that parents have to get involved in their digital lives much sooner than they used to. Although you may sometimes feel out of your depth when it comes to technology, as a parent you have an important role to play in helping your kids safely navigate the online spaces and activities they enjoy. The Explore Digital Parenting workshop offered by MediaSmarts looks at the various activities kids love to do online and offers tips and strategies for everything from Facebook privacy settings, online shopping, cyberbullying, to protecting your computer from viruses.
